Business Development Manager - South Island

As a Business Development Manager, you will be focused on increasing the market position of iPayroll by working with Accountants and Bookkeepers (our partners) to promote iPayroll to their respective customers, as well as working and creating direct leads from prospective customers. You will build key relationships, identify opportunities, confidently provide demonstrations (both in person and via zoom) all whilst maintaining knowledge of current market conditions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Follow up company generated leads and provide product demonstrations
  • Generate new business through effective prospecting activities
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to build and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Set up demonstrations between client decision makers and company practice leaders/principals
  • Handle objections by clarifying, and working through product differences to a positive conclusion
  • Attend industry functions, such as roadshows, events and conferences as and when required
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop iPayroll’s unique selling proposition
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Track and record activity via Zoho CRM

To be successful, you need to have:

  • 2-3+ years Sales, Business Development or Account Management experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales target
  • Ability to identify key stakeholders and close sales
  • Good listening, questioning and negotiating skills
  • A proven can-do will-do attitude
  • Be someone who thrives in an autonomous environment whilst still being a team player

Previous experience or exposure to Payroll, Accounting or the Bookkeeping industry is not necessary but would be a distinct advantage.

This job is ideal for a go-getting self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills together with a genuine desire to help businesses improve process by using an easy-to-use, feature-rich payroll software solution.

There will be some travel involved within your designated region and we are open to the successful applicant being based from any of the main towns in the South Island.
