Project Manager - Wellington

We currently have an opening for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team of happy, busy, opinionated (in the best way), motivated individuals who are committed to delivering exciting new things and delivering them together.

The focus of this role is to proactively work with the wider iPayroll group to deliver projects that provide customer value. You’ll be working with the product team to deliver the roadmap, define the deliverables, report on project status, and manage project ceremonies and delivery timelines.

You’ll be working closely with the wider technology team and side by side with the Product Team. Product Managers will be ensuring we are solving the most important issues for our customers, and you’ll be supporting the delivery of the group vision. This role does not require SME or direct stakeholder management you’ll be focused on driving your project’s delivery through the software development lifecycle, ensuring requirements are gathered in a timely fashion, through to reliable project reporting, communication and transparency around bottlenecks, resourcing shortfalls and priority conflicts.

You will…

• Support the product team to deliver projects by setting goals with an implementation plan and managing the timelines through requirement gathering, design, execution as well as monitoring post go live tasks and closing.
• Foster strong collaboration with the QA and technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Own the oversight of project status to evaluate and report on delivery health.
• Work with the product and software development teams to define and run appropriate project ceremonies and encourage collaboration.
• Ensure compliance documentation is captured for each project and the team is adhering to the change management process.
• Ensure alignment with product managers on the release plan, covering capability enhancements, risk and mitigation strategies, communication, and system migrations.
• Stay informed about the release schedule and upcoming changes to support effective communication within the team.

• A passion for the delivery process and can balance ownership with collaboration.
• Excellent time management and analytical skills.
• The ability to manage the detail of projects, working with different methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall etc, depending on the project's needs.
• A strong drive for delivering value and great prioritisation skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership skills, patience, and the ability to bring stakeholders and the development team on the journey.

And you also have…

• Project delivery experience, ideally for financial software as a service product.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project teams and can support the team to determine the size of projects, as well as communicate project health metrics to business and technology teams.
• Experience measuring estimates vs actuals for forecasting with tools or methods to hit the ground running.
• Experience managing the timeline for projects with 3rd party companies.
• A solid understanding of modern technologies supporting web and mobile applications, public APIs, and internal systems (e.g. CRM etc).
• Experience with compliance projects
